The Guardians Came All The Way Back From 15.5 Games Back To Win The Division, Just To Lose To The Tigers In The First Round

That game sucked. No other way to put it. I drove all the way back from Chicago over night for this one, picked up each and every one of my family members as we headed up to Cleveland this morning, pregamed all day, essentially bought out an entire section in the stadium, hung around in a boring game for a few innings, and then got our teeth kicked in by the 7th inning stretch.

A 6-1 lead to this Guardians team is essentially a million runs. And that's honestly why I'm not even that devastated this year. Because this team was not a contender. We had no business winning a division or hosting a playoff series, but we got one. Don't get me wrong, I loved every second of the right....but that felt like house money. Half our team was playing in the minor leagues at the All-Star Break, and the other half batted under .200 this season. The fact that we were able to pop champagne and win the AL Central was a massive achievement in itself....

Let me be very clear: I take none of this back. I'd do it exactly the same all over again. Because the fact of the matter is that this season was OVER in the middle of the summer, and the Guardians scratched and clawed their way back into having a punchers chance, and then they kept swinging until they miraculously passed the Tigers. I am not disappointed in this team at all. What I am disappointed in is the amount of Tigers fans trying to dunk on me. Are you serious? You blew the largest divisional lead in baseball history….and you won the Wild Card Round? Go win the World Series and maybe I'll think about saying good job. But

Ohio State better beat Michigan this year.
