This Jets Loss Is More Proof That The New York Football Teams Are Horrific

New York City is an incredible place. I know it's not for everyone but if you are someone that does appreciate what it has to offer, it's amazing. You have so much access to great shows, brilliant comedians and incredible food. Even if you don't like NYC, you have to acknowledge that it's one of the most important cities in the entire world. For all of its wonder, the NFL teams here are complete ass.
(I know some people are reading this thinking "Well, actually!" and then saying that the Jets and Giants play in New Jersey. Sure. They also represent the NYC area. That's what I am talking about here.)
Even when good things happen to these teams, they don't matter. Incredible Will MacDonald IV TD off of a blocked FG? It's just the ends to the means of a Bucs redemption FG for the win. Nothing matter for the Jets and Giants except losses and pain.
The difference is how the fan bases approach this reality. Jets fans know the team sucks. We've reached the point of peak nihilism. Everything is meaningless and leads nowhere. Giants fans still think they are fans of a good organization because they won a Super Bowl when the Twilight movies were still in theaters.
Records since 2017:
Giants: 40-93
Jets: 41-94
It's the same thing. We both suck.
Giants fans can point to talents like Malik Nabers and think things are different. Jets fans look over at Garret Wilson and laugh because we know nothing matters. Not even young, talented wide receivers.
I am writing this before the Giants play the Chiefs tonight because I already know they'll lose. You're telling me Patrick Mahomes isn't going to lead the Chiefs to victory tonight when he desperately needs one? Andy Reid is going to pull down Brian Daboll's pants on national TV and give him a spanking.

This stupid stadium doesn't help. It has zero character and you lose years of your life with stress if you ever try to go home. It's like Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.
It's a shame. They had a real chance to build at least the Jets stadium in Manhattan. How amazing would that have been? But no, Woody Johnson was cheap and wanted to share construction costs with the Giants and we got this shitbox that thinks changing the lights from blue to green makes it feel like a uniquely home stadium. So fucking lame.
Years ago, today's Jets loss would have ruined my whole day. I'd be walking my dog for a hour or so replaying all that went wrong. I guess I have the Mets for that now. But, I've become pretty apathetic about the Jets. I'm surprised how little this loss affected me. Many Jets fans have to feel similarly. There are only so many losses and dead seasons you can live through. Maybe they'll go 0-17 and can get the #1 pick.
The problem is the Giants will be competing for it too. The Giants and Jets both battling for the #1 pick. What an awful state of affairs for a great city.
