Ella Griff Spending $11K In A Month At College Has Sparked A Ton Of People To Reveal How Poor They Were In College And Their Stories Will Fascinate You

Karim dove into this one as the clip took the internet by storm last week, and rightfully so, 11 grand in a month and 60-70 in a semester is bananaland folks!  BANANA LAND.

Just as insane as it gets. The most endearing thing to me in college was everyone was poor yet everyone knew it and whenever they got money, you all got money. I mentioned I would get a refund check via room and board and it felt like hitting the lottery.

That extra 2 grand after covering rent was my money (+ whatever I still had from Christmas break and working over the summer) was what I had to manage for THE ENTIRE SEMESTER, and I felt great about it. I cannot imagine 11 grand in a month, pure insanity.

It did feel like Christmas time was the best at college because at the end of the semester you were lucky if you had two nickels to rub together but everyone was in the thick of it together. People shared handles, people gave you rides to the bus home, and people always felt like if they were going to be poor it would be better to be poor together. I rarely miss college at 38 years old, but every once in a while on a Thursday night in December when an old song pops on Spotify you get reminded that night woulda been the annual Santa and His Ho Ho Ho's party and you smirk a little wishing you could go back for one more batch of homemade Frozen Strawberry Daiquiris while not being able to see the Ricky Hatton (rip) Floyd Mayweather fight because you can't lift your head up. Good times.

Anyway, it got me to ask the question, what is the poorest people were in college, and my God did the replies deliver.

And the saddest of the sad folks. Not because it was poor, but just because of how awful it worked out for them …

Just awful. I bet this guy curses that Intro to Pysch book out every day.
