Gotta Leave It All On The Field: Sean McVay Tore His Plantar Fascia While Moving On The Sidelines During The Rams Game This Past Week
[Source] - "Foot's good," said McVay. "I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that's a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster. But I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed I did that.
"Good news is I'm not playing. I'm just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you'll know why."
This is how you bond with the boys. If you're coaching in the NFL and not injuring yourself while running to call timeout, I don't want you as a head coach. You basically need to do this or be too fat to run the sidelines to call timeout. Those are the elite coaches in the NFL and I won't hear otherwise.
But, again, this comes down to learning you can't do the same shit as you get older. Trust me.
Or ask Bad Bunny
Time is a motherfucker and it comes for all of us. Doesn't matter how rich you are. Doesn't matter if you're a blogger, a musician/actor or an NFL head coach. You learn pretty quick once you hit a certain age that it's just time to hang it up. You had a good run for a few decades and then your life as an athlete is over. It's fine. It's something we all need to accept. Maybe just live the golf, beer league softball and you can keep it going a bit. But the quick twitch stuff? You're done. That's where Sean McVay is right now.
I need him in a walking boot as he recovers. I know you can't let guys see your injuries, but seeing a coach in a walking boot while being called an offensive genius is something that I'm willing to see in the 4pm window. Gotta leave it all on the field when you're a coach. This is how you win over a football team.
