The Caps New Screaming Eagle Jersey Is The Best 3rd Jersey In The League

As the kids say...fire flames like ya read about.

I've long loved the screaming eagle jersey. So when they introduced the red one as the reverse retro, myself and all Caps fans immediately were like "yep, this is the one". And then they introduced the black screaming eagle, and myself and all Caps fans immediately were like "YEP, THIS IS THE ONE".

Well today, the Caps cleaned up the red one and introduced it as the new 3rd jersey, and it's beautiful. I love the lace up aspect and getting rid of the diagonal lettering. The Caps current red jerseys with just the word "Capitals" across the chest is clean, but the eagle obviously is just better in every way.

If I got my way, after this season the Caps would re-brand and go with the black jerseys full time at home and keep the red as the 3rd. We've done the "Rock The Red" era with Ovi, so rebranding to a meaner, grungier era would be cool. 

Whichever way they go, it seems clear the Screaming Eagle is the future of the Caps and I could not be happier. The Protas Era is going to be special.
