New Falcons Kicker Parker Romo Met Teammate Leonard Floyd For the First Time During the Sunday Night Football Postgame Interview
What a week for Parker Romo. After Younghoe Koo missed a kick that would have sent the Falcons' Week 1 game against the Buccaneers to overtime, Romo was signed to Atlanta's practice squad on Wednesday, elevated to the 53-man roster on Saturday and then went on the road and nailed all five of his field goal attempts in a win on Sunday Night Football.
That doesn't leave a lot of time for greeting your new teammates.
So, Romo met Leonard Floyd when the two were being interviewed on the field after the game. I'm sure there were still a dozen guys who Parker hadn't spoken to when the team got on the plane back, too. Hopefully everyone went up and paid their respects after Romo bailed out every drive the Falcons couldn't finish and put enough points on the board to win the game — which isn't remarkably difficult when you're playing JJ McCarthy, but still.
If there's anyone in the building tomorrow who still hasn't introduced themselves, that needs to be taken care of before the first meeting of the day, because we got ourselves a new kicker and he rocks.
