'I Kind Of Wish Scottie Wasn't Here' - Scottie Is Dominating The Sport So Much, He's Got Pro Golfers Basically Begging Him To Stop Playing In Tournaments
Lost in football yesterday was yet another Scottie win on the PGA Tour.
It's ridiculous. Dude just shows up, plays a bunch of golf in the 60s, celebrates with his wife and kid and moves onto then ext one. This time it was him vs fellow Ryder Cup player Ben Griffin who missed this to force a playoff:
Don't love seeing a missed 4-footer, but I'll say I'd rather Griffin miss this one and make all of these in the Ryder Cup. But it's another Griffin (not related) who said what every person has to be thinking:
Lanto Griffin finished 3rd. He needed a good finish to keep his full tour card
Tough for Lanto not to win considering the Ryder Cup team used this as a practice round essentially. The US finally realized it makes sense to keep playing golf leading into the Ryder Cup instead of taking time off. But you think he's the only one to wish Scottie wasn't showing up every week? Of course not. The guy is on one of the more ridiculous runs we've seen:
Obviously Griffin was saying it tongue in cheek, but it's the truth. Scottie has found this way to just linger around the first couple rounds and then come Saturday he's just blowing by everyone and Sunday cruises to a win. That's sort of been how he's gotten to this point. It's impressive because people think it's boring. That's the ultimate compliment in golf. Now we just need this Scottie at Bethpage.
