Kyle Schwarber Is A 50 Dinger Man
In the history of baseball, there have only been 34 human beings who have hit 50 or more home runs in a single MLB season. Think about how many people have played baseball in their life. Millions upon millions. Think about how many of them have been so good at baseball that they got called up to the MLB. Thousands upon thousands.
And yet there are only 34 who have been able to obliterate the shit out of a little ball 50 times in one season. Kyle Schwarber is now one of those 34.
What's crazy to think about is how many of those guys ever hit 50 home runs without a contract already waiting for them next season. You figure anybody with that type of power would never have to worry about where they're playing baseball the following year. That their team would be doing everything and anything they can to keep them around for years to come.
But here comes Kyle Schwarber. Not a contract in sight for next season, and just murdering balls left and right. He comes just the 2nd Phillie in franchise history to reach the 50 home run marker after Ryan Howard. Sure seems like a guy who you'd want to play the rest of his career in Philadelphia. But that price to keep him just keeps going up and up every time a pitcher hangs one up in the zone.
Pay the man.
