Jerry Jones Is So Afraid Of The Eagles That He Turned Down The Biggest Offer For Micah Parsons

When you have a talent like Micah Parsons, the hope is that you never end up trading him in the first place. You hope he stays with your organization for his entire career, and one day you get to hang his number up in the rafters.
But if things go a little sideways and you end up having to part with an elite player like that, the goal is to get the biggest haul you could possibly receive in return. You only get a chance to trade a player of that caliber once, so you might as well take advantage of it. A trade like that could set your team up for at least the next 5 years if you play your cards right.
Jerry Jones didn't even realize he had cards to play with. He was playing with Play-Doh and Legos. Because if he truly cared about the future of the Cowboys, he would have accepted the highest offer to come across his desk for Micah Parsons. Even if that offer came from Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Two 1st round picks, a 3rd round pick, a 5th round pick, and "other things" which probably means a player. Sure, you'd have to face Micah Parsons at least twice a year with the Eagles if you make that trade. But that would only be for so many years. The type of roster overhaul you could do with that trade package would have the Cowboys contending for a Super Bowl well after Micah's best years with Philly are over.
Clearly Jerry doesn't care. Maybe he was just a little gun shy after seeing what happened when the Giants let Saquon go to Philly. Maybe he's legitimately terrified of the Eagles catching up to Dallas in terms of Super Bowl rings. Regardless of the reasoning, he made a worse decision for the Cowboys because the Eagles were involved. So much for America's team.
