SpitGate: New Footage Shows That Dak Prescott Spit First, Jalen Carter Was Simply Returning The Favor
Turns out that what we had last night was just a little case of a couple dudes swapping some spit. Ain't nothing wrong about that. I mean, maybe that's not my style. Shit, it's definitely on the freakier side so I doubt it would be many people's style. But the moment that Dak Prescott spit first, it immediately gave consent for Jalen Carter to spit back. Anybody with a spit kink could tell you that.
I just wish the NFL were able to have some more open-minded refs on the field. Refs who understand when two dudes are just playfully swapping saliva amongst one another. Nothing malicious about it. Sexual? Maybe. But certainly not devious. Dak even went ahead and admitted that he spit in Jalen Carter's direction during his post-game presser.
Dak has been in this league for 10-years. The guy knows a thing or two about a thing or two, and he's been around the game long enough to know exactly what he's doing there. It was a veteran move for sure. Spit in Jalen Carter's direction, but aim just far enough away to deny any intentionality of it. Typically that's how most of his balls are thrown. He spit in Jalen Carter's direction, and then voluntarily moved himself directly into the line of fire for when Jalen Carter would return a loogie of his own.
Entrapment much?
Still a dumb decision by Jalen Carter to spit back at Dak. Obviously the 2nd guy is always going to be the one who gets caught in real time. But at the very least, you can't suspend Jalen Carter for thinking that Dak had some weird fetish for spitting, and he just didn't want to be rude by not spitting back at him. Maybe just make Jalen Carter wear a full face shield for the rest of the season to make sure it doesn't happen again.
