The First Oasis Shows In America In 16 Years Have Been Nothing Short Of BIBLICAL

Yep - another Oasis blog on Barstool Sports. Get over it.

This past week, Liam and Noel Gallagher took the stage in America for the first time in over 16 years; first in Chicago at Soldier Field on Thursday, and then two nights at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday/Monday. Going into the North American leg of the tour, there was a lot of talk about whether or not the crowds would live up to the high bar that the UK set....

After attending all three Stateside shows, I can confidently say that these crowds lived up to the hype and then some. It might not've been quite on level with the lunatics overseas, but I've been to hundreds of concerts in my life and have NEVER seen anything like what we just experienced in America....

Not only did the crowd do the Poznan for 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' (the turn-around celebration Man City have adopted) - they sang their hearts out the entire night. Even for deeper cuts like 'Bring It On Down' and 'Fade Away’! It was biblical!

Everyone had smiles on their faces, emanating good vibes and a sense of community in this fanbase, and everyone felt like we were witnessing history together - because we were. This tour is going to go down in the rock n’ roll record books instantly, and not only for the boatloads of money the Gallaghers must be raking in; every ‘Live 25’ review you read is more positive than the last! Snobby music journalists can’t even deny the magic unfolding on that stage every night! Oasis have never sounded better.

Don’t just take my word for it either - talk to anyone who went to these shows! I’ve yet to find a disappointed customer, and almost everyone I’ve discussed these gigs with describe it as a mind-blowing experience, many of which are calling it the best show they’ve ever been to. In this cynical ass world where everyone wants to be “too cool” for everything, do you realize how rare that is?!

There’s just something in the air at these shows. It’s undeniable. I thought nothing would live up to that first night in Cardiff, which is of course always going to be extra special as the actual reunion, but I swear it’s like they just keep getting better. Night 1 at MetLife was as perfect as show as I’ve ever seen, and Chicago/Night 2 at MetLife were awfully close as well. I think at this point my top five concerts I’ve ever seen would consist of four Oasis shows on this tour and then a random fifth.

Barstool Beach House superstar Dante The Don said recently in a blog that if you’re on the fence about buying tickets, you absolutely have to go - and I couldn’t agree more. Grab your friends, grab your family, and enjoy one of the greatest nights of singalongs you could ever imagine.
