A Fight Broke Out After Inter Miami Lost The Leagues Cup Final To The Seattle Sounders
Listen, this was a bad way for me to figure out that the Leagues Cup final was yesterday. What is the Leagues Cup is a question that many Americans would ask, considering it was week 1 of college football and the US Open and probably a bunch of other things you'd rather watch. Leagues Cup is basically a competition between the MLS and Liga MX, the top Mexican league. To the surprise of nobody, the final was between Messi's Inter Miami and Seattle, and everyone including the tournament organizers expected Messi to capture another trophy:
And the one player who is probably in the deepest of trouble is Luis Suarez, who you probably remember from his infamous biting incidents:
And Sergio Busquets who threw a punch (if you can call it that):
The funniest part about this is that those two players are in the tail end of their career and are playing at Miami as a farewell tour and a way to make some money and get some stateside fame, and they're getting in fights with young MLS kids who have a whole career to go and probably looked up to these guys growing up. And I'm a Ronaldo guy through and through, but Messi was the only one who wasn't with the bs:
Probably a cool story to tell if you're the 20 year old kid getting punched by a 37 year old soccer legend who is probably worth a zillion more dollars than you.
P.S. Inter Miami fans are crashing out:
