We Just Got Our First Look At Ryan Gosling's New Star Wars Movie PLUS A Full Cast Announcement
BOOM! After announcing the Ryan Gosling led 'Star Wars: Starfighter' at Celebration Japan earlier this year, Lucasfilm just provided us with the first look at the latest film in a galaxy far, far away - as well as a full cast list!
We knew already that Ryan Gosling, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith were slated to star, but Amy Adams/Aaron Pierre are some MAJOR additions, not to mention Simon Bird aka Will from 'The Inbetweeners' (one of the funniest shows ever made)....
I'd have to imagine he's voicing a droid - I don't know if I'd be able to take him seriously in a dramatic role.
I'm (obviously) stoked for this movie, though - especially because Gosling doesn't seem to select bad projects often. Pair his track record with Shawn Levy's ability to make a big spectacle movie like 'Deadpool & Wolverine' or even 'Night at the Museum' and an absolutely STACKED cast and I think we're cooking with fire here. My only hangup/concern is that it almost seems like we're doing another "Get the child to safety!" storyline, which has been done to death in Star Wars between 'The Mandalorian', 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', and tonnnnns of 'Clone Wars' episodes. And considering this movie takes place post-Episode IX, I think the "safety" the kid in this movie may be seeking could be Rey's new Jedi Temple….which would be kinda sick in my opinion.
I'm keeping an open mind, and honestly I'm just excited to see how they advance the galaxy post-Skywalker saga and where they'll go in this new tale. You nail the world-building and this could be really special and unique. Plus - Mia Goth as an evil character in the Star Wars universe sounds fucking awesome, and I'm sure Gosling will have a new badass jacket to add to his arsenal of all-time cool movie jackets.
