Nebraska DB DeShon Singleton Says That They're "Finna Make The People In The Wheelchairs Stand Up" When Asked About Their Opener Against Cincinnati Tomorrow
Listen, Nebraska football has been what can only be described as a laughing stock for some years now. But when you've got DBs talking like this, it gives me some hope that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. You need guys with immense confidence that when asked what they're going to do as 6.5 point favorites in their first game of the season will tell you that they're going to make the impossible possible by having those who are handicapped being able to stand to applaud.
This is a team that is special, whether that means a 7 win season or playoff hopes, they'll be special no matter what. That ADA section is going to be jumping as Patrick Mahomes Jr. throws for 400 yards. Or they'll all leave in unison after a disappointing first half and it'll be the same old Nebraska again. Some people are staying that what he meant is that they're going to stand up to turn the TV off from how bad of a product it will be, but not me. I need delusional confidence from our players if I'm going to back a squad.
And by the way, he isn't the first to give this quote, except it sorta backfired for former Patriots WR Javon Baker:
By the way, Javon was released from the Patriots 2 hours ago after being a 2nd round pick last year, so he won't be making anyone stand up at Gillette anytime soon unfortunately. Hopefully Nebraska's fate is different. Good luck out there.
