Taiwan Won The Little League World Series, And Props To Their Coach For Reminding His Team About All The Girls Back Home Watching Them Before Making The Final Out
AP News - It might not have been perfect, but for Taiwan it was still pretty great.
Lin Chin-Tse retired the first 13 batters he faced and allowed just one hit in five innings as Taiwan beat Nevada 7-0 in the Little League World Series championship Sunday, ending a 29-year title drought for the Taiwanese.
Taiwan won its first LLWS since 1996, although its 18 titles are the most of any country beside the United States, including five straight from 1977 to 1981.
Lin, a 5-foot-8 right hander, also smashed a three-run triple in Taiwan’s five-run fifth. The 12-year-old from Taipei hit more than 80 mph with his fastball multiple times during the tournament; to batters it looks much faster because the plate in this level of baseball is only 46 feet (14 meters) away. His velocity appeared much the same on Sunday.
Lin’s longest start before Sunday was three innings in Taiwan’s opening game against Mexico. He allowed only one hit in a subsequent victory over Venezuela.
“I am very excited,” Lin said through an interpreter. “In the first inning, I was very nervous, but after that it was smooth.”
The last international team to win the tournament was Japan in 2017.
Listen, congratulations to these kids from Taiwan on an absolute dominant performance in this year's Little League World Series. I'm not gonna sit here and say fuck you to a bunch of kids because they beat some spoiled brats American kids from Vegas. Good for these kids. They worked their asses off - clearly- fucking smoking America's best in the championship game 7-0, and this was probably the highlight of their lives. Plus they probably appreciate it way more than those kids ever would have. So be happy for them.
But that's not the point of this blog.
This is -
This was so great that the announcers (who could obviously understand what he was saying) busted out dying laughing.
Turns out the pitching coach attended this same school and played for the team when he was their age, so you gotta imagine how proud this all made him.
But he's right. And good on him for taking a second to remind these kids to soak everything in and enjoy it. Sure, they're kings of the little league universe now. But in a few weeks that will all be forgotten and the harshness of real life will set back in. School, homework, mandatory military service. Life changes. Fast as fuck. Especially when you're a young teen. One day, you're biggest concern in the world is watching the clock tick so you can get out of detention and rush home to make the tail end of your neighborhood pickup game. And the next, you're sweating bullets, wondering how the fuck your property taxes could possibly be going up again.
But you know what doesn't change? Chicks digging the long ball.
I know things have drastically changed with today's young generation. They are softer than baby shit. But I refuse to believe that being a jock still isn't a gateway to chicks wanting you. It has been a cheat code since we were living in caves. The hairy neanderthal who could club a pterodactyl to death always got the bitches wet. Which is the reason men ever since have done the dumbest shit imaginable in order to impress women and hopefully catch their eye. Just think of some of the moronic shit we used to do back in the day. (I remember I used to let my friend throw sand in my face (and eyes) on the playground because it made girls laugh and I thought it would make them like me.)
Luckily for the starting QB, or the kid who hit puberty and had facial hair when he was 11, they didn't have to worry about that. Because they could they could hit a baseball a mile. I'm rambling now, but the point remains.
Kids reading this, listen to the Taiwan coach. He's right. Enjoy every second of your youth. And use every fucking thing in the world you can to impress girls to your advantage.
p.s. - after the game, the kids got to meet Frank's boy Juan Soto who was really nice to them. Love to see it -
