I Can't Get Over How Insane Of A Story Firing An NFL Head Coach Who Won Back To Back Super Bowls Would Be In 2025

I wrote about The Cowboys doc series on Netflix a little bit when the trailer dropped, and was super excited because I devoured the book years ago. 

The reviews quickly poured in and I was right ... 

I'm sure there's an entire generation of people younger than me who have absolutely no idea of some of the stories going on in and out of the locker room - the white house, Mike Irving, Deion, Charles Haley, Emmitt's holdout etc. I remember next to nothing about watching those games at 6-7 years old, so the generation behind me may not even know how many Super Bowls the Cowboys won (spoiler if you are reading this it's 3). But the one thing that stood out while reading the book and seeing it play out on video years later, is how astounding it is that Jerry Jones fired Head Coach Jimmy Johnson after winning BACK TO BACK SUPERBOWLS. Again … a head coach was fired after winning BACK TO BACK SUPER BOWLS. 

I know their was news cycles back then, and sports coverage, and beat reporters to specific teams, and radio shows etc but the one thing that hit me while watching was just how insane of a story this would be in 2025 with social media, the 604584949 tv shows we have going on, podcasts, tik tok, fan sites etc. I literally think the world would explode. Fans of whatever team that was in 2025 would literally chain themselves to the gates outside the stadium demanding answers or for them to bring the coach back. It's banana-land. Truthfully banana-land. There are fan bases that would give up food and water for a Super Bowl and Jerry Jones is kicking a guy who won 2 with a loaded roster still in tact to the curb because of a squabble over a toast of a drink at an owner's meeting? Just as amazing as it gets folks. Truly a one of a kind story and I wish it happens again (even though it never will) just to see the circus play out in today's world, and I also wish in 1994 I was old enough to know what was going on, and their was social media to watch this lunacy. One can only wish …
