James Gunn Officially Brought The DCU Into The 21st Century With A Giant Coke-Fueled Orgy Scene In The Season 2 Premiere Of Peacemaker

Obviously I can't post the scene in the blog. But for anybody that wants to see it, they can watch it here. It's okay, we'll wait for you.

Well that was something, huh? I think any concerns about the DCU going back to its cartoony roots following a wholesome Superman movie ended once the counter hit double digits for full frontal shots as the scene just kept going and going and going. It may not be able to touch the crazy shit we saw in the Herogasm episode of The Boys. But at least DC has embraced that The Boys and Invincible have brought the attitude era to comic cinematic universes with James Gunn unleashing a scene that would have caused legitimate heart attacks at Disney World if he tried to get it greenlit it in the MCU.

That's not to say that Season 2 of Peacemaker is going to be good because of gratuitous nudity, violence, or anything else that you can get away with on HBO. It's going to be good because it's funny, should have a less weird story than Season 1, and a good cast playing interesting characters (along with all the gratuitous nudity and violence). I liked The Justice Gang in Superman but already love them in Peacemaker after the hot mic scene.

So after one episode, I think it's safe to say The Gunn still has not missed with comic book content and by the sound of it, he somehow is getting even better as this season goes on.

Fuuuuuuuuck yes.
