Bricked Up: They're Finally Giving The Batman Movies The Lego Video Game Treatment

I'm bricked up right now.

I love the Lego video games so much. I grew up on Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman like most kids my age; and I got pulled back in by The Skywalker Saga a couple years back - genuinely one of the most fun/expansive open world games I've ever played. We have been hearing rumors about this 'Batman Legacy' game for months now, and this trailer finally confirms that they are FINALLY tackling the Batman movies and doing it on a massive scale!

(If you didn't know, the original Lego Batman never did moments from the movies - they had their own story/universe.)

From the small details we know right now, it appears to be a hybrid of the Lego games and Arkham games....

I can't tell if you'll be able to play through each movie scene-by-scene like the Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Harry Potter games, but based on The Penguin looking more like Danny Devito than Colin Farrell in the recreation of 'The Batman' Batmobile scene and Alfred looking more like Michael Gough than Michael Caine in 'The Dark Knight' scenes - I kinda think they'll be combining a bunch of classic scenes from the movies into one narrative here. That'd also save the creators the effort of coming up with multiple different open world maps for each sector of the franchise, and I could see them wanting to just focus on one super huge/detailed Gotham City instead of doing that. Plus I'm not sure they can kid-ify every moment from Nolan's trilogy/the Reeves movie....

We'll see what the future holds for more details, but as far as reveal trailers go - I couldn't be any more fired up. Bring on Lego Batman and everything that comes with it!

P.S. If you've written these off as stupid kid games in the past, I'd highly recommend just trying 'The Skywalker Saga' out. It's always on sale now and way more puzzle-oriented/fun than you'd think. I spent hours
