Football Is BACK: Army Commit LB Deion Miller Absolutely Decapitated a Kid To Open Buford High School's $62 Million Stadium

Yeah, we're officially back, gang.

You can listen to season preview podcasts and pore over win totals until you're blue in the face, but there's no substitute for that first time you hear the pads pop on the field. I watched Milton High School vs. Buford High School on Thursday night like it was the Super Bowl because that's the kind of intensity we need to have heading into next weekend when things get going.

The game was fine, but nothing got my football juices flowing quite like this hit from Buford LB Deion Miller. He filled the gap perfectly, stuck his head in the ball carrier's chest and delivered a perfect, hard hit. Touchdown passes and big runs are great, but that first big thud of the year hits different — literally.

Miller is somehow an unranked recruit despite starting at middle linebacker for one of the best high school teams in America, but he's taking his talents to West Point, which is incredibly commendable. Great decision, young man.

There are more awesome high school games tonight and throughout this weekend and then we get a nice appetizer of Farmageddon in Ireland next Saturday before it's officially time to get ready for game week. We only get 75 or so football seasons, folks. Enjoy these blessings.
