Clear Your Schedule, Because the November 1 CFB Slate Is Going To Be an Absolute Movie

Every year, there's that one Saturday. Yes, they're all glorious in their own rights and each one is to be cherished. But every season brings us one that is simply above the rest.

Just look at that slate on November 1, 2025. Seven preseason ranked matchups including what should be the game of the year in the Big Ten with massive College Football Playoff implications, a rematch of last year's Big 12 Championship Game, Miami's toughest ACC road test, Georgia-Florida in what should be the closest that game has been in years and South Carolina and Oklahoma both with huge road games that could be land mines in their hopeful paths to the Playoff. If that doesn't get you fired up beyond belief, you need to check your pulse.

Do not, under any circumstances, agree to do anything on this day. If there's a wedding, send a very nice gift and politely — but firmly — decline the invitation. It's the day after Halloween, so the pumpkin patches are done. Pick a different weekend and preemptively suggest apple picking or an adjacent activity to be absolutely sure you will not be asked to move from the couch from noon to midnight. These are the days we live for.

We're rapidly approaching the start of the season and that's great, but my eyes are set on Week 10. It's going to be 47 degrees with a crisp autumn wind and the best slate of football we'll see this year. What a blessed life we live, friends.
