NASCAR Driver Breaks His Collarbone Getting Out Of The Car To Celebrate A Win, Makes You Realize Cars Should Probably Have Doors
Imagine if they invented something which allowed drivers to easily get in and out of their vehicle. Like a part of the car you'd be swing open in order to get into the car, and then pull shut once you're properly in the vehicle. It wouldn't have to be anything crazy. Just think about the front door to your house, but on a car. To me that just seems drastically easier than having to climb in and out through a tiny window. But what would I know? I'm not a 19-year-old NASCAR phenom who is racking up wins on the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the 2nd youngest driver to make their Cup Series debut since Joey Logano.
Nope. That would be 19-year-old Connor Zilisch. I don't follow NASCAR at all, but apparently he's one of the best young drivers in the game. He just won another Xfinity Series race on Saturday, and was scheduled to race again
I don't really follow NASCAR at all, but apparently this Connor Zilisch fella is one of the best young drivers in the game. He's 19-years-old and was the youngest driver since Joey Logano to make his Cup Series debut back in February. He was supposed to race again in the Cup Series on Sunday but he had to withdraw on account of shattering his collarbone trying to get out of his car while celebrating his win on Saturday.
Good news is that all things considered, the young fella is doing fine.
That's one of those flukey injuries that if it happened to a baseball player, they'd be done for their career. I'm sure if he had his head tilted just a couple degrees the other way, then we're looking at an extra scary situation on our hands. But getting out of there with just a broken collarbone? That's just a funny story to tell after you win Daytona for the first time.
