A Lucky Massachusetts Fella Won $1 Million Off His Powerball Tickets Twice In One Night After Forgetting He Already Bought One Earlier
Listen, the lottery is one of the great question marks in society. I still don't really understand how it all works, and the one time I used the Jackpocket lottery app after getting my free ticket from using promo code ONE (shoutout One Bite) it didn't yield me any results. I'm not even totally sure how this works but apparently this guy went and bought a set of numbers that was good for a "multi-draw", which basically means 7 straight drawings of the Powerball, but thought he did it for a draw that he thought already ended, and turns out he just ended up buying the same numbers for the "Match 5" that yields you a million.
Side note, the state of New York apparently lets you do 37 consecutive draws if you want? I thought the glory of the lottery was that you had to go to the gas station or wherever you buy your tickets (and now made way more accessible with a mobile app in Jackpocket) every week? You're telling me you can just enter 37 straight draws with one swoop of the finger? Man technology has come a long way.
Anyway, congrats to this fella even though he's from Massachusetts which I can only hope he's not a Celtics fan, because luck has to run out at some point and it seems it's with this guys potential favorite basketball team. Other than that, if there's a look of a guy who is going to spend that money wisely, it's this guy. Love the hat and sunglasses choice with the cut-off shirt. Legend.
P.S. I haven't done this in a while but one of my favorite pasttimes used to searching "if I won the lottery, I wouldn't tell anybody, but there would be signs" and just seeing the outlandish shit people would buy given that opportunity:
I'd probably just buy a WNBA team for $250 million because according to a very trusted source, they think it'll be worth a billion in the next 10 years. ROI like you read about!
