FAMILY: Vin Diesel Pushing Around Michael Caine In A Wheelchair Is A Beautiful Friendship That Should Bring A Tear To Your Eye

I'd guess there's a lot of genuine Hollywood friendships we don't know anything about. But out of all the random pairings out there, Vin Diesel being BFFs with Sir Michael Caine is one of my favorites to follow.
2 guys with very different acting styles, very different backgrounds, with a 30+ year age difference being thick as thieves for decades? To me, that's a beautiful and fascinating friendship to see.
And I am wondering if Vin snuck a NOS tank onto this wheelchair? FAMILY.
(People) - Caine wrote of his long-standing friendship with Diesel in his memoir Don't Look Back, You'll Trip Over: My Guide to Life. The two-time Oscar winner wrote in his memoir that he and Diesel "first met at a dinner party about 30 years ago" and that he "just liked the guy immediately," according to an excerpt published by Entertainment Weekly in March. "It turned out he was going through some tough times back then, so I think perhaps it made an impression upon him to be embraced and treated with love," Caine wrote in the book. "Anyway, we’ve been great friends ever since."
"Michael came into my life after I had lost a childhood friend who became a New York City police officer and lost his life in the line of duty — one of my personal reasons for filming that infamous New York detective," Diesel added. "Somehow Michael’s friendship was healing and loving, and I’ve been blessed to have him in my life." In that post, Diesel also revealed that he and Caine "started working on an independent project called Mark and Maurice" over a year ago. "I can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to," he wrote.
Some pretty big news in there since Sir Michael retired from acting back in 2023… But sounds like they're filming some kind of documentary or indie film with each other? Fun fact, they both have some unguessable original names.
Vin Diesel = Mark Sinclair Vincent
Michael Caine = Maurice Joseph Micklewhite
(Wiki) - Diesel's brother and some friends had broken into the Theater for the New City space on Jane Street with the intent to vandalize it. They were confronted by the theater's artistic director, Crystal Field, who offered them roles in the upcoming show instead of calling the police. Diesel remained involved with the theater throughout adolescence. Sinclair began going by his stage name "Vin Diesel" while working as a bouncer at the New York nightclub Tunnel, wanting a tougher sounding name for his occupation. Vin comes from his mother's married last name Vincent, while the surname Diesel came from his friends due to his tendency to be energetic
(Wiki) - Caine's film debut was an uncredited walk-on role in Morning Departure (1950). Adopting the stage name "Michael White", in July 1953 he was cast as the drunkard Hindley in the company's production of Wuthering Heights. When his career took him to London in 1954 after his provincial apprenticeship, his agent informed him that there was already a Michael White performing as an actor in London and that he had to come up with a new name immediately. Speaking to his agent from a telephone booth in Leicester Square, London, he looked around for inspiration, noted that The Caine Mutiny was being shown at the Odeon Cinema, and decided to change his name to "Michael Caine".
The more you know! And I'm happy to give Vin some positive shine right now because he has been getting dragged on the internet recently. The announcement about bringing Paul Walker back to life (again) for Fast Furious 10 wasn't exactly a banger.
And this camera angle highlighting a potential weight gain certainly didn't help either.

Apparently that weight gain was for a character he's playing before dropping back down to film the next Fast movie. But best of luck to him working down from 280 lb. at 57 years old… Maybe he should hit up Frank The Tank about weight loss advice? He should definitely avoid trying Fat Burger & the double cheese with fries for $2.95 fa-
We simply can't have him becoming the next Steven Seagal.
But at least Sir Michael Caine is still looking svelte at 92 years old. We need him to stick around for awhile longer, or ideally, forever. Legend of our time. And just one of the coolest dudes to ever do it. Did you know he's married to Shakira? The original? Saw her on a TV commercial and made it his mission to make her his wife. ALPHA. Love that guy.
Toast a Fernet Branca to true friendship tonight. Salut mi familia. LETTY!
