DUDES ROCK: Indonesian Boat Racing Videos Are Going Viral Because Of Pacu Jalur Dance Leaders "Aura Farming" Till The Finish Line
"Pacu Jalur is a traditional boat racing event originating from Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau, Indonesia. It features long, ornately decorated wooden boats paddled by teams of 40–60 people in a spectacular and rhythmic competition. The tradition dates back to the 17th century and has evolved from a transportation method to a royal celebration, and now into a national cultural festival. The Tukang Tari, or traditional dancer, is not to row but to entertain and motivate the team during the race."
Recently I've been seeing Indonesian boat racing videos flooding social media and frankly, I cannot get enough of these vibes. Truly a perfect storm of a beautiful historic tradition + incredible outfits + smooth moves + internet absurdity.
Who knew Indonesia went this hard in the paint? Hammer don't hurt em!

Legends Master Wayne, LEGENDS. And with people all over the world already doing their best Pacu Jalur tribute, these pristine summer vibes seem to be just getting started.
And I'll fully admit the term "aura farming" makes me want to Freddy Krueger my eyeballs out, chop my dick off, and jump into boiling acid… But those dance moves are simply TOO good. They gotta figure out how to make money off this.
The guy behind that TikTok song sure is. Shout out to Melly Mike for seizing the moment and personally traveling to perform at the next Pacu Jalur on August 20th. As the kids say, that's gonna be a fucking movie ong fr fr skibidi rizz.
But hopefully the dudes at the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism don't get too involved for that. Judging from this video they put out yesterday, that's an office of dudes that are cringe AF. And certainly not bussin'. Probably never saw a GYAT in their lives. I digress…
I'm grateful I got to learn about a new cultural tradition but I do hope they give a key to the city to #1 Aura Farmer Rayyan Arkan Dhika. Some token of appreciation other than a new black faux pope hat? Least they can do for their country's #1 export.
This is a solid start though. What a world!
