Iga Swiatek Cooks Up a Ridiculous Double Bagel To Amanda Anisimova In The Wimbledon Women's Final

Iga Swiatek just committed murder on a tennis court. There's really no other way to describe it. 6-0 6-0 in less than an hour to win the Wimbledon title is fucking nuts. This was a demolition. 

Iga was as locked in as we've ever seen her and Amanda Anisimova played like a 23 year old who could not handle the moment. It was one way traffic from start to finish. It's not even worth putting highlights in here because it was just that one-sided. 

Someone asked me if you'd rather lose in the semifinals than get steamrolled like that in the final, but the $2M prize money for being a runner up I think answers that question. I'd certainly take 2 mill to embarrass myself for an hour. I normally just do that for free. 

For Iga it's a massive moment as she becomes the youngest woman to win a slam on all three surfaces since Serena did so in 2002. She's back in the top 3 after winning her first slam that wasn't a French Open since 2022. Her confidence is all the way back and the rest of the women on tour need to be aware of that. This version of her today was ruthless and clinical. Hell, she finished the tournament with three consecutive bagels going back to her semifinal match. 20 consecutive games. Just insane. 

As for Anisimova, just a really tough showing. Not much more to say. She was in tears afterwards as she had to painfully address the crowd. 

She's still just 23 years old, but clearly has a lot left to learn if she's ever going to win a slam. Amanda had nothing today and mentally stood no chance against Iga. 

Men's final tomorrow at 11am EST. Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jannik Sinner. What more can you ask for? Expect an epic and you shall receive.
