Alvin Kamara Had One Of The Worst 1st Pitches Of All-Time And The Saints Are Trying To Destroy The Evidence And Buried Me In The Process

Two years ago I uprooted my family and we moved to Chicago. I never had a pro baseball team affiliation before. I strangely always assumed I'd like whatever team in whatever city I moved to. Well that city happened to be Chicago, and that team happened to be the Cubbies.

My kids have gotten way into the sport, so I'm way into it. We watch almost every game, or at least parts of it and they're a fun team to watch. They are the highest scoring team in baseball and they hit a franchise record eight homeruns the other day. And as far as the month of July goes, they were perfect. That was until one of the best players in my least favorite NFL franchises history took the mound for the first pitch.

Listen, I'm a new Cubs fan. I have no right to call out Atlanta, Georgia-raised Alvin Kamara as not a Cubs fan. He probably cheers for the team that flies the W after every win too. But I'm a football fan first and I fucking hate Alvin Kamara.

And on Saturday, July 5th, those two things mixed and it went very poorly. The Cubs immediately gave up two runs in the first and it could've been a lot worse with the bases juiced and only one out. Luckily, they got out of it allowing only two, but ended up losing their first game in July and I can't help but think Alvin had something to do with it.

Kamara threw out the first pitch on Saturday and it didn't exactly go well. He made the Wrigley Field crowd moan like Saints fans in a packed Superdome watching Chris Godwin scamper for a long touchdown after a perfect Baker Mayfield pass.

But hey, you can't crush the guy for that. 50 Cent and even our old friend Taylor Lewan had horrific first pitches. But Kamara did something that may be unprecedented in first pitches. He asked for a second one. I actually don't have a problem with this and the crowd was seemingly with him.

But when the Saints official twitter account tweeted the video, they conveniently just showed Kamara from a side angle on his first throw, clearly curating a version that didn't show his flub. So being the Saints hater that I am, I called them out on it.

I was not fully prepared for what happened next.

They edited out the first pitch result with KB (illegally) slamming me which resulted in a sprained a/c joint. Now it's not unlike the Saints to hope people get hurt, but even as a Bucs fan, I have to admit, this was a damn good reply. Basically perfect.

Sure I had a retort to mock them of their horrible football play, but they won this round.

Sometimes you just have to tip your cap. Well done.

We discussed that video and much more on today's Yak with the gang back. Watch it here:
