Myles Turner Goes To The Dark Side And Becomes A Milwaukee Buck
Seeing Myles Turner in a Milwaukee Bucks jersey makes me want to puke my guts out. THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS? Is nothing sacred? Myles switched up and joined forces with the dark side.
For the record, I'm happy Myles got paid. No one deserves it more than Myles, a guy who has been taking pay cuts, and sitting on the Pacers' chopping block for what seems like 10 out of his 10 seasons in Indiana. You push a man far enough and he just might go to the dark side of the force.
Before the Haliburton injury I was ready to defend resigning Turner till the death of me. Yeah, he sucked offensively in the finals, but we don't get to the finals without Turner. You have to run it back with him, because who else are you going get without giving up a ton.
After the injury, signing Myles wasn't so obvious. The front office is looking at the future, and keeping Mathurin looks to be way more important - a guy who just turned 23 and still hasn't found his ceiling. What will Myles look like two years from now? The Pacers front office has done an incredible job rebuilding and assembling this team, so I've got all the faith in the world that they see the bigger picture. No clue what the Pacers will look like at center in a few years, and I don't think iJax is your long term answer. Hopefully when the time comes, the Pacers will be ready to spend the $ they promised before the Hali injury.
Wish the Pacers could run it back with this team until 2030, but that's not how it works. Sucks losing Myles, but this was the move. MIL replacing Lopez with Turner is a MASSIVE upgrade for them. Interesting he didn't go to Detroit who had the cap, and seemed like they are a stretch 5 away from really contending in the east. But, when it looks like you have one of the greatest players in the game on your team (Giannis), you go play with him. A 4 year deal doesn't hurt either. From one small market to another, I hope they treat him right. His favorite things are legos and star wars, be good to him, and he will be good to you.
If you need me, I'll be reading the letter Myles wrote to Indianapolis and thinking about the good times
