Ranking The Top 30 Songs I Want To See Oasis Do At Their First Show Back

I will never get over that after 15 years Oasis is back. And even bigger, I will never get over that somehow me and Robbie will be at their first show back. Against all odds, against hundreds of thousands of other people trying to get tickets, Robbie was 512th in line and got em.

I'm still in disbelief.

As Robbie eloquently said, not knowing the setlist is like being at the Royal Rumble. The opening riff of every song is going to send 75,000 fans into shock every single time. But there's so much we don't know- how long of a set are they going to play? Traditionally they play 90 minutes, but will they go 1:45 to 2 hours now? What deep cuts will they pull out? Will there be an acoustic set? Strings? A new song? Nobody has any idea and we will be there next Friday to see it happen in front of our very eyes.

So that being said, I am now going to rank the top 30 songs I want to hear live. Not my favorite 30, not my list of their best 30, but the 30 I want to hear.

This is from a special algorithm I have created based on rarity, how hard the song goes live, how much I like the song, how much everyone else likes the song, vibes, and other factors that I cannot disclose for the sanctity of the algo.

1. Acquiesce. No question about it. The brothers are back, and Acquiesce is THE song they were meant to perform live. Is it maybe a littttttle cheesy, given the circumstances? Maybe, but fuck it, everyone is there because the brothers are back, we're back, and Acquiesce is going to hit like the strongest crack when they do it live.

2. Cigarettes and Alcohol. It's going to be absolutely INSANE when the opening rif hits and then when Liam hits the "Imaginayyyytiiiioooooon". Crowd jumping and piss flying like you read about. Biblical.

3. Slide Away. On the right day, Slide Away is my number 1 Oasis song and maybe the best Oasis song as well. I wouldn't mind it acoustic, wouldn't mind it full band, wouldn't mind it with an orchestra, wouldn't mind it all 3 ways. I figure it's a must-play on this tour and might get the biggest emotional reaction from the crowd.

4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I can't explain it I just really want to be in an arena swaying and belting out SCYHO with 75,000 of my closest friends. I'm just picturing how incredible that will be and maybe this is a reach but again the algorithm put it here, I'm guessing because it knows how biblical it would go in the first night back.

5. Don't Look Back In Anger. Similar to the SCYHO reasons, it's just such a moment when Rkid plays it as the crowd sings along in harmony. The chorus, Noel smiling, the solos, it's a perfect live song. 5 is probably a very low ranking for it all things considered but I have already seen it twice. It's certainly magical and a moment I cannot wait for.

6. Gas Panic

7. Live Forever

8. The Masterplan

9. Morning Glory

10. Rock N Roll Star

11. Hello

12. Cast No Shadow

13. Talk Tonight

14. Some Might Say

15. Wonderwall

16. Champagne Supernova

17. Supersonic

18. Lyla

19. Don't Go Away

20. Half The World Away

21. Columbia

22. D'You Know What I Mean?

23. Whatever

24. Digsy's Dinner

25. Who Feels Love

26. Step Out

27. D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman?

28. Fade Away

29. The Hindu Times

30. Turn Up The Sun

I mean honestly this was fairly impossible to rank and someone is going to mention a song I left off and I'm gonna go "oh fuck!" and want to re-do the entire list.

I just cannot believe this is happening next Friday. We'll see you guys at Nandos in Cardiff for the pregame!

EDIT: Forgot "Stand By Me". I'd put that in the 11-15 range.
