"Hi, I'm Vic I Play For The Spurs" - Victor Wembanyama Continues To Follow The Tom Brady Method When Welcoming New Rookies To San Antonio

Despite a lot of pre-Draft smoke that the Spurs could potentially offload some of their Lottery picks, as it turned out, they kept both #2 and #14 picks, which secured both Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant to help solidify one of the more intriguing young cores in the league

If you aren't too familiar with Harper or Carter's game, go ahead and take a look

While I do think it's fair to be a little concerned about the lack outside shooting in the Spurs backcourt, you can figure that shit out later. No young cores are finished products right away, so you take the elite talent and bank on some internal development in that area.

As a young player, I imagine it's pretty hard not to be super excited to join the Spurs given where they are right now in their ascension in the West. Not only are they a smart organization, but you also get to play with Wemby for the foreseeable future. Considering the pace Wemby is on, that's a guy I'd want to be tied to moving forward. Not only because of his all-world generational talent, but also because he seems to be an incredible teammate

I dunno, there's just something I find very funny about Wemby hopping on the phone and saying

"Hi, I'm Vic I play for the Spurs"

Uhhhhhhh ya think?

That's a level of humility that makes Wemby unique. Is there a single person on this planet who does not know who Victor Wembanyama is and who he plays for? Especially if that person is in any way involved or pays attention to the sport of basketball? Of course not, but that's the thing. What makes Wemby special is that there's no ego. This is just what Wemby does, and it's as genuine as it gets

Honestly, it reminds me of hearing these same sort of stories about another GOAT, Tom Brady

As a Spurs fan, this would have me even more over the moon. If this is how true GOATs operate, then Wemby following that same path could mean some very big things are in store for the Spurs, and given their mix of young talent and established vets it could come sooner than most think. The West is a literal nightmare, but is it crazy to think next year is the year we see the Spurs break into the Play In? I don't think that's unthinkable as long as Wemby remains healthy. Why can't they take the Kings spot or something?

We just saw with OKC how quickly a successful rebuild can happen when you have a generational All NBA 1st team caliber foundational piece (Wemby) and you're surrounding young pieces both hit. While it's true there's still some potential tweaking to be done to this Spurs roster, they're off to about as good as a start to their rebuild as you could have. The talent is there, the wins are starting to rise, and if you're a team that hopes to get to the top of the mountain, you better hope you get there before these baby Spurs are ready.
