Respect The Grudge: A Seattle Sports Show Refuses To Say The Name Thunder Or Announce That They Won The NBA Finals

This probably sums up how Seattle feels this week more than anything. People will blame the city of Seattle and funding for a new arena for the move, Seattle will blame rich people and money. Whatever, the Sonics were part of my childhood. That's the team I grew up with in the NBA, not to mention they have a way better team name, logo and jerseys than the Thunder. That's just a fact. This is an elite jersey

But this? This I love. Look, I wanted the Thunder to win the Finals. Fuck the Pacers. I also have no problem with the Thunder, I'm not a Sonics fan and well, I've never been to Seattle in my life. But I respect grudges. I respect hate. The people of Seattle have every right to hold those grudges and sports hate. So you do the logical thing, 'Pacers lost game 7, let's get to the Sounders!' Petty and stupid? Of course, but that's sports.

This is how every city should act if they lose a team. I can't imagine that feeling. I don't ever want one of my teams to leave because what the hell do you do then? You don't just keep cheering for that team. They use a different name, they use a different history and pick and choose when they want to. Plus all I can think about is this scene from Baseketball. So good on this guy. Keep the grudge forever.
