The Harmonica Class From The Korea-Town Senior & Community Center Played One Of The Most Beautiful Renditions Of "The Star Spangled Banner" That Your Ears Will Ever Hear Before The Kings Game Last Night
On Patriots Day no less.
Just absolutely beautiful.
That's America right there baby. That's what we're all about.
People probably saw the jumbotron flash that macro showing The Harmonica Class From The Korea-Town Senior & Community Center and thought, wow, the Kings are really pulling out all the stops for this playoff push, huh?
But little did they know, and soon were they to find out, that The Kings have now got to be heavy favorites to win the cup after that performance.
Straight chills when the entire building picked up the vocal duties and sang in unison.
God Bless America!
FUN FACT - "The Star-Spangled Banner" iThe lyrics come from the "Defence of Fort M'Henry", a poem written by American lawyer Francis Scott Key on September 14, 1814, after he witnessed the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812.
Key was inspired by the large U.S. flag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort after the battle.
p.s. - it's cliche as fuck, but does it get any better than playoff NHL? Everything is raised up ten notches. Every puck drop, line change, and penalty feels like life or death. The energy packed in to 60 minutes is incomparable. You get a national anthem, like this, in Game freaking 1, on a sleepy Monday night, in hockey-town Los Angeles. Nothing like it.
