Playoff Jeff Van Gundy Has Been Activated And Wrestled Nikola Jokic For A Basketball During Game 1 Of Clippers/Nuggets

The Nuggets may have won the first battle of this war, but the Clippers clearly have the most fearless warrior in it. Most NBA players in peak physical condition don't feel like wrestling with the Serbian bear named Nikola Jokic. But 63-year-old Jeff Van Gundy was doing that on the road in Game 1 just so Jokic couldn't control the pace. That's the kind of defense that wins championships and could lead to Nico Harrison making a serious trade offer for Van Gundy or at the very least Mat Ishbia looking into JVG as the next coach he hires then fires in a year for the Suns.

This is of course nothing new for Jeff as he was jumping into a literal fist fight (at least by NBA standards) and holding on for dear life to Alonzo Mourning's leg.

Again, I know the Nuggets have the lead in the series and one of the best offensive players we've ever seen. But if push comes to shove as it often does in the NBA Playoffs, I'll take the 5'9" bald guy from the mean streets of Brockport over anyone on either side when shit hits the fan.
