BREAKING: A New $3 Billion Commanders Stadium Is Coming To DC With Josh Harris Paying $2.5 Billion of the Cost!!!!

The lord heard our prayers!!! And the lord I of course mean Josh Harris. Oh you thought I meant...no, no, don't be silly. Josh Harris is who we pray to now. And it looks like the thing we have been dying for the most, to get out of old, crusty FedEx Field and move to a new state of the art stadium on the RFK site is actually happening!!! Can I get a hallelujah?!?

And what's truly remarkable is the Commanders are going to pay up to $2.5 billion of the $3 billion cost. That is insanity. Most owners will squabble with local governments for years about financing and increase taxes on the locals to build a new stadium. Josh Harris said fuck it, I'll do it (mostly) myself. That's the type of billionaire I respect. A guy who had made his money and now just wants to spend it. And not on dumb things like watches and boats and the like (though I'm sure he is) but instead on football teams and stadiums for the people.

There are owners who don't do this. I mean Stan Kroenke famously is the worst dude ever at this shit. Told St. Louis to go fuck themselves despite being worth $18 billion. That's so insane to me. Josh Harris is spending all his money on the team and a new stadium for DC and yes it obviously benefits him, it also benefits Washington DC so much as well.

OH, and KEEPING THEM IN DC!!!! Not putting them in the suburbs. You know the worst type of stadium, like Levi's out in "San Fransisco" or the Cowboys stadium "in Dallas"? And currently FedEx Field (I know it's not FedEx but don't careeeeee) in "DC", but none are anywhere close to the city. Going from Cowboys Stadium back to my hotel in downtown Dallas was a fucking nightmare. All stadiums should be downtown. Make people take public transportation. Encourage it even! And then you build up the area around the stadium, a la Nats Park, and make it a cool area with bars and restaurants.

Hopefully they slap a dome on this thing and it hosts concerts, Super Bowls, Wrestlemania, etc. Every big event in DC proper in the capital of the United States of America. This is what we've always dreamt of. And honestly, the fact that it says it should be done for the 2030 season seems pretty reasonable. Watching Jayden lift his 3rd Lombardi at Commanders Field is going to be special. I cannot wait. Thank you Josh Harris!!!

PS: For some reason some architecture firm in 2016 made this mockup for a new stadium and I think about it nearly every day. Hopefully Josh Harris sees the vision. We need a moat with a wave pool, Mr. Harris. Need it.
