CORRECTION: Trae Young Actually Got Ejected From The Play-In Game Because He Just Wanted To Get Home To Play Pickleball

Trae Young isn't an idiot. He knows the Atlanta Hawks never had a chance in hell at winning an NBA title this year. He did just job. It's not his fault the Hawks haven't found a way to surround him with better players. Making a run in the playoffs would never result in a championship for him. It would only be extending how long he has to keep showing up for work.

I know the old adage is "find something you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life". But that's simply not true. Work is always work the moment it becomes a job. Trae Young doesn't want to have to keep going to work. He wants to be able to do shit he actually enjoys doing. Like playing pickleball.

You think it's any coincidence that he literally just dropped his new signature paddle with Paddletek? Trae Young knew the NBA season was coming to an end, and pickleball season was just about to start up. He knew he needed a new paddle to work everybody at open play with, and now it's here just in time for the Hawks season to end. He got that paddle in his hands and immediately started putting all his focus and energy behind getting out on the courts as much and as quickly as possible.

The Hawks were in Orlando last night. There's a lot of really high level pickleball being played in Florida. I'm sure there are a few facilities that were open after the game ended. He wanted to get a quick head start into the locker room to be able to change and get over there as soon as the game was over. Can't blame him one bit. There's nothing worse than showing up to a session when everyone has already warmed up after playing a few games. You show up cold, but you don't want to waste everyone's time warming up. So you just hop right into the game, you can't hit a third-shot drop to save your life in the first 5-6 points, now you're overthinking everything and your game is dog shit for the next hour. Can't be having that.
