The Coolest To Do It - Of Course Ken Griffey Jr. Ended Up Taking One Of The Most Iconic Photos Of Rory McIlroy At The Masters

I blogged about this last week and how Ken Griffey Jr., was a credentialed photographer for The Masters. Sure, the guy can do whatever he wants. He's Ken Griffey Jr., when you're that cool and a generational name across all of sports you end up being an elite photographer when you want too. It doesn't matter if he calls himself the low man on the totem pole

[Source] - “Realistically, I’m the low man on the totem pole,” he said Saturday morning. “I’m still picking it up. If you’re not willing to learn then your pictures aren’t going to get any better.”

The article also had incredible lines, which again, just shows how damn cool he is:

“It doesn’t matter your status in life, if it’s something you don’t do professionally and everybody here is a professional, you’re still nervous to walk in the room,” Griffey said. “How would these guys feel if we all got into a batting cage, and I was sitting there critiquing them? It’s the same thing.”

“I’m gonna be on top of the bunker, straight over it,” he said. “Bob wants green and he wants white, from the sand coming out of the bunker.”

He paused.

“So that’s what we’re gonna get.”

Think it worked out? These are all pictures taken from Ken Griffey Jr.'s camera:

That picture of Rory on his knees sobbing on the green after winning The Masters is one of the most iconic photos from this year. Of course he took it. Forget the ones of the leaderboard or Langer walking off Augusta for the last time or Spieth and his kids, Rory and his caddie. The picture that everyone will close their eyes and see is Rory sobbing on the green. This guy took it

Just more proof that some guys will always be cool, always be good, no matter what. That's Ken Griffey Jr. He lives a different life than the rest of us. He's one of those guys that no matter what he does it just looks cool. Could do the backwards hat, the swing, the nickname, whatever, he's just cool. Now he's trying to fit in as a photographer and delivering that sort of picture. If he goes to another major, we all should agree that he's the only one who can wear his hat backwards on the course. It's only right.
