The Positive Vibes Are Very Much Back With Today's Picks

RECORD

40-65-2 (-7 units)

The positive vibes were palpable yesterday. I told you we were feeling reinvigorated. We went to 2-1, which is nothing to throw a parade about, but it was a pretty darn solid day. The Astros took care of business against the Orioles, as the curse of Kevin Brown continues to live on in Baltimore, and the Phillies easily covered on the run line against the Washington Nationals. You must feel good about winning a bet when the pitcher you're batting on throws a no-hitter. Thankfully, the Phillies could also get a few runs and win an easy one against Washington. So that's a plus money day and a step in the right direction. Let's take a look at today's picks.

Astros -1.5 (+130) against the Orioles

I have to. It's all about the vibes. I do not like what's coming out of Baltimore right now, which is such a shame because they've been one of my favorite teams this entire season. Until the Kevin Brown curse is lifted, I'm going to bed against them. The defending world champions also seemed to be on a mission in this series. They picked up a big game yesterday on the Texas Rangers, and now they're only two back in the American League West standings. Hunter Brown is pitching for the Astros, and his stuff is nasty. I also think he's got that ice water in his veins. He doesn't get rattled much for a rookie. The one concern the people have had about the Baltimore Orioles this season has been whether or not their starting rotation will be sustainable. We're already starting to see some cracks in that foundation. I like Houston today.

Blue Jays -1.5 (+120) against the Guardians

I can't believe I'm doing this. The Blue Jays have burned me so many times this season with her inconsistent play. But I'm not that crazy about today's board, and I do like the value of the Blue Jays at plus money. If I get burned by Toronto again, especially with Alec Manoah on the mound, that's on me. I can't even blame the team anymore. At a certain point, the person making the bets is just stupid. But the Guardians don't score runs, and they seem to come across like a team that's wholly demoralized when I watch them. The Blue Jays have been taking care of business lately. Every time I'm about to hop on the bandwagon, they lose a big series to a good team, but in general, they do a great job of beating up on lesser opponents. I need them to do that today. Syndergaard has been awful this season. I don't know what we're doing if Toronto's lineup does tee off on him.

JT Realmuto to homer (+380) against the Nationals

As I said, I'm not really into today's board, but I decided to go with a home run prop here. The Phillies feast on the Nationals whenever they play. The vibes that Clubhouse got to be pretty high following Michael Lorenzen's no-hitter. Patrick Corbin is on the mound for Washington. He's arguably been the worst baseball pitcher over the last three years or so. A lot of Phillies have a really good numbers against Corbin, with Realmuto being among the best. He has 11 hits in 36 plate appearances, including two home runs. Realmuto's power numbers are down this season, but the Phillies are collectively starting to hit their stride here as a team. It has been a while since we hit with a home run prop. Let's change that today.
