Chris Berman Was Ready To Give Pardon My Take A Shoutout On NFL Primetime In Front Of Millions Of Viewers, But An Unfortunate Injury Changed The Plan

On today's Pardon My Take... CHRIS BERMAN! "Boomer" joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter to kick off Big Game Week for the second straight year to talk all things football, ranging from the Super Bowl, his favorite football memories, how to properly say, "The RRRRRRAIDERS," and much more.

In case you didn't know, Pardon My Take has been doing their own version of Berman's "Fastest Two Minutes" for years on the show. During Berman's NFL Primetime appearances, he would make puns and jokes using player names while reading over the highlights. And on today's episode, it was revealed that Boomer was very, very close to giving PMT a personal shoutout on last week's episode thanks to a line that Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter created featuring 49ers QB Brock Purdy. Take a look...

“I Wanna Brock And Roll All Night, And Purdy Every Day. That's genius! I'm ready to give it to the Pardon My Take boys... on regular TV, not even ESPN+. This was real, cable TV, this ws monumental viewers, right? And that Primetime, I think, ran three times, like the old days. I eve had it written down on my notes, like, don't forget it!" - Chris Berman

Darrrrrrrrrn! Boomer had this shoutout ready to go, but the unfortunate injury to Brock Purdy changed the plan. That it totally understandable, but the fact that Chris Berman liked that joke enough to give it (and the show) a shoutout on national television is very, very cool. Maybe next year.

This was an amazing interview with a football legend. Be sure to give it a full listen!
