My Best Friend Brendan Fraser Has Been Cast In The Next Scorsese Movie

Brendan Fraser (No Sudden Move) has joined the casts of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Max Barbakow’s Brothers.

The former title from Apple TV + and Paramount Pictures is a crime drama, based on the bestselling book of the same name by David Grann. It’s set in 1920s Oklahoma and will examine the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation—a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

Fraser will appear in Killers alongside Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, Emmy nominated Jesse Plemons, and more. We hear that he will play lawyer WS Hamilton.

This is about the Osage Indian Murders, which is a fascinating wiki read for those of you interested. I am already a huge fan of forgotten tales in American history that deserve more love. But this adaptation being helmed by Marty and starring Leo, De Niro, Plemmons and more?

Get it?

This has been in the works for a bit, so my hype was already peaked out. Or at least so I thought. Adding my beautiful big boy to this movie is such a great gesture that I already want to name this one of the best movies ever made despite not seeing so much as a frame of it. Fraser is an absolute king of kings who has dealt with a lot of shit over the last decade plus. He was sexually assaulted by the former head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and later blacklisted, then went through a divorce and forced to pay an obscene alimony. Recently, he has gotten back into the swing of things and I couldn't be happier for him. He was in the HBO Max movie "No Sudden Move" and will star as a 400lbs man in an upcoming A24 movie.

We actually interviewed Fraser back in 2019 for Doom Patrol, which rules by the way. He was really nice and I think a little hesitant at first because both Jeff and I were fawning over him. I think maybe the meme culture surrounding him has made him a bit wary about affection, so maybe he thought it was a bit. But by the end of it, you can hear how he realizes how real it is. He even teared up AND gave me a big hug which is one of the highlights of my whole life.
