Now That College Athletes Can Make Money Reggie Bush Wants His Heisman Back But The NCAA Is Refusing To Do So Because They’re Scumbags
SOURCE - College football legend Reggie Bush says he's fighting like hell to get his Heisman trophy back ... but claims both the NCAA and the Heisman Trust are giving him the stiff arm.
Bush forfeited his 2005 trophy back in 2010 when the NCAA ruled the running back had received improper benefits while at USC ... which vacated his stellar junior season with the Trojans.
Now -- on the day NCAA athletes have been given the green light to make money off their name, image and likeness -- Bush addressed his efforts to have his beloved trophy returned ... and says he's been getting the cold shoulder.
The NCAA are a bunch of fraudulent sacks of shit led by the biggest crook of them all Mark Emmert, that’s needless to be said. But now that we have that on record, it doesn’t shock me one bit that the NCAA doesn’t wanna give back the Heisman trophy they took away from one of the most electric players in the history of their sport for what now is totally legal. As a matter of fact, at the time it was totally legal. There was nothing wrong with it morally. The “rules” Reggie Bush broke were a bunch of made up rules by the NCAA with the soul purpose of keeping athletes from making a dime off their labor while coaches and programs rake in millions.
Can you imagine how many number 5 USC jerseys they must have sold during Reggie Bush’s time at Southern Cal? Has to be thousands of jerseys, millions in revenue. He didn’t make a cent off it yet he was stripped of the highest individual honor in college football (that he earned fair and square) because he was given a free opportunity to help his family out. He didn’t cheat. He didn’t steal. Someone came to him with the chance to put his struggling family in a better living situation and he didn’t say no. That’s all he did. Reggie Bush was a victim in this situation. The NCAA portrayed him as an evil monster. Fuck the NCAA.
Now that it’s allowed, you’d think the NCAA would do the right thing right? WRONG. They would never do the right thing. They’re allergic to doing the right thing. They’re allergic to anything that has to do with helping out athletes financially in any sort of capacity. The sad part is, the money athletes will be making now doesn’t even have anything to do with the NCAA. The players have to do the leg work on their own to make this money. They have to build their social media accounts/brands and negotiate these brand/autograph/appearance deals on their own. Obviously they can hire help or have help from the universities they attend but the NCAA doesn’t have to lift a finger. They still had a problem with it. They have a problem with anything that doesn’t make it so they can have all the money and the athletes get none. It was a sick joke. It’s always been a sick joke. That’s why they finally had their day in court and got absolutely bullied by the Supreme Court. What they had been saying was illegal for athletes to do all these years, turns out it was actually illegal of them to say it was illegal.
Give Reggie Bush his Heisman back. That’s it. The guy did nothing wrong. He’s not a villain. He never was. That’s just what the NCAA painted him to be. If anything he was arguably the NCAA’s biggest asset during his time at USC. He transcended college football. He was the most exciting player I’ve ever seen on a football field. He was a walking big play. He put asses in seats like maybe nobody in college football ever had before. He was THE guy for a generation.
The NCAA are the real villains and I’m glad more and more people are starting to finally see that. There’s no thought out, logical argument to make against athletes being able to profit off their own name, image and likeness. Any student on campus can make money for themselves. Athletes were turning down free waters with the fear of a NCAA violation. Well fuck the NCAA, that shit is over.
