South Carolina Fans Chanted 'Oompa Loompa' at Arkansas' Robert Moore, So He Launched a Moon Shot With the Bat Flip of the Year

I am all for fans having fun and getting into it with opposing players at games, particularly in college baseball. Crowds in the SEC are fantastic and provide the best atmospheres in the country by a wide margin. But South Carolina students learned the hard way last night that you don't fuck with Arkansas' Robert Moore.

Moore — listed at 5'9" — had already launched one homer in the game when the Gamecocks' student section began chanting, "Oompa Loompa," towards him during his at-bat in the seventh inning of a tie game. And it took him all of one more pitch to send one into orbit and give the No. 1 Razorbacks a lead they wouldn't give back. And the ball had been off his bat for all of about half a second when he flung his bat from behind his shoulders back out towards the pitcher to let that guy know he wasn't too pleased with him, either.

Again, I am all for heckling — especially so in this case because it produced this badass homer and bat flip. But South Carolina might want to look into printing some stat sheets and leaving them on the seats in the student section so those kids know to not mess with the guy with a .986 OPS, 10 HR and 36 RBI.
