Becky Hammon Became The First Woman Head Coach In NBA History After Gregg Popovich Got Ejected

Pretty big moment in the NBA tonight with Becky Hammon taking over the Spurs after Pop lost his shit on this play

Classic Lakers bias if you ask me. Well that put Becky Hammon in charge which made her the first female head coach ever in the history of the NBA. Remember, it was Hammon that led the Summer League Spurs to their title in 2015, shes interviewed for other jobs before, including the recent Pacers opening, and frankly, it's only a matter of time before she becomes an NBA head coach. Yeah the Spurs got crushed by the Lakers but that would have happened even with Pop on the bench.

I'm sure there will be some hardos that shit on this move, and that's whatever. Still cool to see NBA history and you never know who could be inspired by stuff like this. It's not like Hammon isn't putting in the time either, the players obviously respect her, and she's certainly earned this moment. Only fitting that it would be Pop that goes a route like this. You think he gives a shit about what people say? Pretty cool for him to allow this to happen since per NBA rules the loss technically goes on his record.

I do wonder if we're seeing Pop's replacement in real time. He's probably not going to be hanging around for this entire rebuild, and if he feels like Hammon is good enough to cover for him, my guess is he'll put in a recommendation once he hangs it up. The Spurs have always been forward thinkers, and it wouldn't shock me one bit if Hammon did the impossible job of following the legend.
