In Hindsight, That Earthquake During Summer League Was Clearly A Sign Of What Was To Come

Is it me or does this feel like it happened 100 years ago? What a night this was, we had Zion's NBA Summer League debut which had to be the most watched Summer League game in years

and then in the fourth quarter we had that 7.1 earthquake that was felt from Vegas to LA. What a scary time that must have been for everyone in that arena. That's the first time I remember something like that unfolding during in a basketball game in real time. Everyone was a little freaked out, from the people in the stands to our own Robbie Fox

Looking back, we should have known this was the world's way of telling us that the 2019-20 NBA season would be a little strange. I don't think any of us could have seen a global pandemic and a 3 month hiatus right before the playoffs coming but maybe we should have. The sudden pause of games, the confusion, the chaos, I mean that exact same shit happened in March when shit started to hit the fan. I ask you, in how many other seasons have we seen an earthquake during Summer League and then things played out completely normal? Exactly.

I know everyone likes to make the joke that 2020 is the worst year ever, but it's pretty clear the signs were there 6 months earlier back in July 2019 of what was coming out way.
