A Beavis And Butt-Head Reboot Is Coming To Comedy Central

EW- Comedy Central is rebooting the iconic animated series Beavis and Butt-Head for two new seasons. Creator Mike Judge is on board and will voice both characters. But this isn't simply new episodes of the 1993 MTV series about two dense slacker teens in Texas that ran for eight seasons. This revived version brings Beavis and Butt-Head into the modern world.

"In this iteration, Beavis and Butt-head are entering a whole new Gen Z world," Comedy Central said in a press release. The series will contain "meta-themes relatable to both new and old fans -- Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids."

It's unclear whether the characters are still teens in this version or whether the parents referred to are now Beavis and Butt-Head themselves. "It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again,” said Judge, whose other shows include HBO's Silicon Valley and Fox's King of the Hill.

I guess we can chalk Comedy Central as the latest channel to dip its toe into those sweet nostalgic waters as everyone longs for a time when it wasn't 2020. As someone that watched Beavis and Butt-Head in his formative years when things like fire, porn, and all that other tomfoolery these two morons got into which led to the smut blogger you are reading right now, their return should be...interesting.

Beavis and Butt-Head were considered edgy back in the 90s that look like the Wild West compared to the world we live in today and feels like it could be the first show cancelled before the pilot is even written. But I guess if anyone can move those two derelicts into 2020 and commenting on America while not sacrificing too much humor, it is Mike Judge who has done a pretty fucking good job commenting on cubicle hell (Office Space), Southern life (King of the Hill) and tech geeks (Silicon Valley) while still bringing the Hahas.

I'm not sure how Butt-Head will fit in as some Tik Tok'ing teenager (or the dad of a Tik Tok teenager if he actually found a woman that would have sex with him) of if the comedic stylings of a ridiculous yet hilarious Cornholio has a place in 2020. But I sure as shit hope we get more commentary on music videos, even though they have been dead for years. The ultimate sign of respect a song could get was when it got B&BH smilin', dancin', and shakin' that assssssssss

I don't know what I miss more, the music videos or the commentary over them.
