Question- How Hard Do You Think America Is Going To Party When This Is All Said And Done?

I've been thinking about that a lot lately. I'm not saying it's going to be Dazed-and-Confused-1976-bicentennial level partying, but it's still going to be nuts- right? Like once the government lifts the quarantine and says it's safe to be normal again, people are going to lose their minds. There's going to be one big collective sigh of relief followed by party after party after party. As least that's what I keep telling myself. "This too will pass." And if you're calling this  "the new normal" you can shut up. This isn't the new normal, it's the temporarily abnormal. An unfortunate set of circumstances that we're all dealing with but shouldn't get used to.

The parties are the silver lining. Every celebration that happens post-COVID-19 is going to be amplified tenfold. Think about the first pitch post-quarantine? It'll be like GW's after 9/11. The first NFL kickoff, the NBA restarting its season, The Masters, Hockey, NASCAR, THE FOURTH OF JULY. Oh man the fourth of July is going to be awesome. Barbequeing with your pals, kissing each other on lips because there's no social distancing. It'll be great.

The point is, everyone's miserable right now but things will get better. They always do. If anything we can take comfort in knowing that when we get out of this thing we'll be that much more appreciative of what we have. So FaceTime your buddies tonight and have a beer. *This summer is going to be awesome.

*I hope.
