I Can't Get Over That Kobe Bought His Wife The Dress And The Notebook From "The Notebook"

LA Times- During a heartbreaking tribute to Kobe Bryant, his widow, Vanessa Bryant, tearfully remembered the gifts her husband gave her years ago in a nod to the romantic 2004 film “The Notebook,” starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

“He gifted me the actual notebook and the blue dress Rachel McAdams wore in ‘The Notebook’ movie,” Bryant added. “When I asked him why he chose the blue dress, he said it was because it was the scene when Allie comes back to Noah. We had hoped to grow old together like the movie. We really had an amazing love story.”

So Vanessa Bryant apparently mentioned this yesterday but I must have missed it in what was a doozy of a day full of smiles and cries.

What a fucking move by Kobe Bean Bryant. Actually that's not even a move. Buying your wife the dress and the notebook from The Notebook is THE MOVE. Most wives would be happy just to watch The Notebook with their husbands. Yet The Mamba pretty much bought her the actual movie. If those two artifacts weren't in Vanessa Bryant's possession from her late husband, I would say they should be shipped to wherever the Love Hall of Fame is this instant because to quote Indiana Jones, they belong in a museum. I understand that Kobe made this purchase years ago after he was in about as deep a doghouse as a man could find himself in. But emerging from it with the iconic dress that Rachel McAdams made famous as well as the namesake of one of the go-to romance movies of this generation is about as good a shot as you will get at trying to remake your own Hollywood ending.
