The Top 5 John Williams Songs As Voted By You

Ambassadors For Humanity Gala Benefiting USC Shoah Foundation

ICYMI I put up a vote last week on the best John Williams songs. The result’s aren’t crazy shocking, but you can decide that for yourself.

Close, but no cigar: Harry’s Wondrous World (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) 13.7%, Home Alone (Home Alone) 15.9% and Raiders March (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark) 34.5%.

5th. Main Title and First Victim (Jaws) 36.7%

4th. Duel of the Fates (Star Wars Episode I) 41.8%

3rd. Main Title (Star Wars Episode IV) 45.6%

2nd. The Imperial March (Star Wars Episode V) 52.4%

1st. Main Theme (Jurassic Park) 65.3%

There isn’t a ton of surprises here. I don’t necessarily agree with Jurassic Park getting the top spot, but it might be because of my interpretation of “best”. That theme is certainly one of the top 3 most iconic, but I don’t think it’s as moving as some of his other work., My personal list would have to be :

1. Main Theme (Star Wars Episode IV)
2. Raiders March (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark)
3. The Last Battle (Saving Private Ryan)
4. Leaving Hogwarts (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone)
5. Duel of the Fates (Star Wars Episode I)

Robbie went with

1. Main Theme (Star Wars Episode IV)
2. Imperial March (Star Wars Episode V)
3. Raiders March (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark)
4. Duel of the Fates (Star Wars Episode I)
5. Main Theme and First Victim (Jaws)
