FRANCE – Vincent Martinod, 24, fearlessly rode his bike off a cliff edge in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France and parachuted to the ground. GoPro footage of the athlete reveals his extreme free fall and shows the tiny houses, roads and cars of the Alpine village of Magland. The Frenchman’s video begins with him counting down ‘trois, deux, un’ and rolling over orange leaves towards the edge of the cliff. Once he is gliding he can be heard cheering, clearly happy with his daring jump. His friend also recorded the event from another angle to reveal how long Martinod, who has been jumping for three years, clung to his bike before pulling the parachute.

I don’t know Lloyd, the French are assholes. Yeah that’s gonna be a no for me, dawg. Actually, I’m gonna go on a limb and say that’s gonna be a no for everyone outside of Tom Cruise hardo’ing another stunt himself for the next Mission Impossible move. Anything that is considered risky in GTA V should not be attempted in real life. One spaz of the fingers and it’s smell ya later off a cliff like Wile. E Coyote on a homemade rocket. All the credit in the world to Vincent and anyone who will risk their life like that for a YouTube video. Oh, and “Facing Fear In The Face”. That, too. I guess.

Still though, I respect the hell outta anyone who chooses to go full “Cowabunga!” on a bike IRL. You ever see the best mountain riders in the world take on the most difficult courses? It’s INSANITY. The balls on these people should be getting caught on the chain of the bikes they ride.

The POV version of this stuff reminds me of the dude who does similar (staged) videos but on ski’s. Every time I try and hit the slopes I’m too worried about Pizza’ing down the Bunny Hill so I don’t pop an ACL. This guy is french frying at Ludicrous Speed while doing 360’s in the air over running helicopters like he’s freaking 007. Touche.
