Toronto Maple Leafs Fans Are Going To HATE This New Development In The William Nylander Situation

Boston Bruins v Toronto Maple Leafs - Game Six

William Nylander was spotted skating with the Dornbirn Bulldogs in Austria today along side the head coach of the team. Yes, you heard that right. William Nylander is skating in god damn Austria while the Leafs make the NHL their bitch. Leafs fans can’t be happy with this though, right?

It’s good to see Nylander skating, no question about it. If I’m a Leafs fan though, there is zero question I want Nylander in this lineup going forward though, it doesn’t matter how good they are right now. One thing that is inevitable in hockey is injuries. Every team has them throughout the season, it makes or breaks teams. Being that it is still early in the season, the Leafs have yet to suffer any major injuries. Everything is clicking right now. But how long will that last?

You hate to say it, but it’s inevitable, every team has to deal with it. So come the dog days of January when you got 4 guys from the Marlies in the lineup because guys need off days and are playing hurt, Leafs fans are going to wish Nylander was signed.

I still think Nylander and the Leafs get a deal done. GM Kyle Dubas visited Nylander in Switzerland this week to discuss a deal and left with nothing. But at what point does Nylander pick his head up from tying his skates, look around the locker room in Austria while the Leafs are playing on the TV in the room and just think “what the fuck am I doing here”.

Nylander is probably just skating with the team to keep his legs in shape, but if I’m a Leafs fan I want him back in North America as soon as possible.
