I Just Moved Charlie The Bulldog To The Top Of My Draft Board

I don’t even know if we have sports anymore, so the entire concept of a draft may not be necessary. But if we do ever get back to that point in society Charlie the Bulldog is my #1 overall prospect regardless of position. A lot of my peers in the scouting community get lazy. They’ll see a guy went to Alabama or Ohio State and just assume they’re good enough to make it at the next level. That’s called scouting the school and not the player. Which is how a lot of GMs end up with huge misses on their résumé. When most people see bulldogs they think fat, short arms and legs, dogs ineligible for professional sports. A lot of teams see a guy like Charlie and don’t even think to put him on their draft board. Foolhardy to put things lightly. When I see Charlie the hound do you know what I see? Opportunity. Versatility. A great locker room presence. Someone who doesn’t rest on his laurels. I see wet clay. A prospect who can be molded into a pulling guard or coming off the edge defensively and taking out QBs one blindside at a time. Really whatever my team needs on a game to game basis. If I can tap into the same mentality with Charlie and trash barrels that Bobby Boucher found visualizing those who had wronged him I think we may have just stumbled upon Reggie White 2.0
